Inspired by Nature, I think it’s time we branch out our blog. Since it’s such an integral part of One Tree Planted, we’ve created a space just for sustainability.
What’s with the growth spurt you ask?
Well, I am noticing a pattern with the posts, and I know that this subject is an excellent fit for our awareness, education, and engagement mission.
Straight from the Our Story page, the focal point – Sustainability Made Simple. In a previous post, I made reference to this term, and gave a little background on how I came to connect with it online. In a post that followed, I asked an important question “Are You Interested in Learning More About Sustainability?”
Can you see a pattern starting to form?
Before the information gets lost in a sea of content on the internet, I thought we best get organized, making learning about sustainability a little simpler.
It may be simple, but it’s not all going to be easy. There is a lot of ground to cover since as you’ll come to realize, sustainability is connected to everything.
Does that mean you need to be an expert in every subject just to get it? Of course not.
That’s why we are creating a new blog titled “Scoop”, a virtual space dedicated to the Sustainability Made Simple principle.
We’ll start from the very beginning, and walk you through the many areas in which this subject touches your life. Offering advice, facts, and findings, the content will be fresh and applicable to as wide an audience as possible.
There will be posts about what individuals can do to be sustainable because – although we’re all in this together –we are each unique individuals.
Another area of focus will be on sustainability and how it relates to business and organizations. To be completely honest, that touches near everyone too. We many not all own our company, but we most often work within one. And every time we buy something, we are involved in a business transaction.
Understanding sustainability under the umbrella of enterprise will open up the term Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), as I believe they go hand in hand.
As for the students, this term most certainly applies to everyone. We may not be attending class, but we are forever learning. While One Tree Planted has programs and projects directed specifically to schools, when it comes to education and awareness, it’s open to all.
I’m very excited to get started on digging out the Scoop on Sustainability, offering it up to readers it bite size pieces.
So be sure to bookmark this page, and share it with your friends, family, and colleagues.
