CARR FIRE - NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

The Carr Fire was one of the most destructive in 2018. Located in the Shasta region of Northern California, it has burned over 115,000 acres and claimed the lives of 2 firefighters and several residents (as at August 1). Approximately 39,000 people were evacuated. 

California‚Äôs Carr Fire was one of 98 large, active fires delivering smoke across the United States in late July. See the smoke from above using satellite footage from NASA's Earth Observatory.
