  • The Boreal is the world’s largest land-based biome. This forest emerged about 10,000 years ago, and is home to over 30,000 different species. Over 500 indigenous communities live in the boreal region, and 80% of the world’s fresh water supply is found there. Overall, the Boreal forests represent a whopping 25% of the world’s forest cover!

The Boreal Forest is unique to donate toward because of how well it has been preserved. The Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement has ensured the protection of over 170 million acres of Canada’s Boreal forest over the past five years. That’s nearly the size of Texas! Donate a tree to the Boreal today to keep Canada’s forests thriving.

  • The Boreal forest is a vital resource for all of North America. Every tree planted in the Canadian Boreal affects not only those who live within its borders, but also those in the surrounding area. 70% of Canada’s aboriginal population lives in the Boreal forest, amounting to over 1,400 individual communities that depend on its existence every day. The Boreal also provides Canada with over 400,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. While some of those jobs include taking from the forest, replenishing those trees and giving back to it are vital to keep those jobs alive. Every tree planted helps to secure those opportunities for all Canadians in the long term.

  • Summit Reforestation has been planting trees in Canada since 1981. To date, they have planted over 414 million trees across Canada and continue to plant millions of trees every year.
