Unprecedented changes to Earth’s systems, combined with the accelerating impacts of climate change, are driving up to 1 million species toward extinction—many within decades. One of the most effective solutions? Planting trees. The world’s forests shelter a breathtaking range of biodiversity—including 80% of all land-based species. By planting trees, we can restore biodiversity, establish wildlife corridors, and help stabilize critical ecosystems.
As the world exceeds 1.5°C global warming, we’re at risk of crossing five major climate tipping points—and three more are threatened in the 2030s. There’s still hope, but the time is now for bold action. Every year, the world’s forests absorb approximately 7.6 billion metric tonnes of carbon dioxide, but deforestation continues at an alarming rate. Planting trees is a powerful, tangible way to take the future of our planet into our own hands.
Reforestation helps to restore forests that have been degraded or deforested by human activities or environmental disasters, provide jobs for social impact, and restore biodiversity habitat. As trees grow, they put down deep roots that stabilize the soil, capture rainfall and slowly release it as water vapor, absorb air pollutants and greenhouse gasses, and create a welcoming haven for wildlife to return. That’s the power of trees.
From reforestation efforts in tropical rainforests to mangrove restoration along coastal communities, our projects are impactful and thoughtfully designed. Each project is a unique response to local environmental challenges, driven by the collective power of individuals and communities that want to improve their environment.

Donate nowIn northern Thailand, we’re helping local farmers restore watersheds and improve their livelihoods through agroforestry. By planting a mix of fruit, coffee, and native trees, we’re tackling hunger and poverty while healing the land. This project empowers communities to become stewards of the environment and ensure a sustainable future for all.
This multi-year project restores critical areas for monarch butterfly migration and hibernation in Mexico. By planting oyamel fir trees, we provide the shelter and conditions monarchs need to survive overwinter. Local communities and volunteers participate in reforestation efforts, environmental education, and monitoring activities for long-term success.
In Rwanda, the KULA project helps coffee farmers protect their crops and the land they depend on. By planting shade trees, we’re reducing drought stress, preventing soil erosion, and replenishing soil nutrients. Through training and sustainable practices, we empower farmers to improve their livelihoods while caring for the environment, ensuring a more resilient future.
In Australia’s Mornington Peninsula, we're creating a wildlife corridor to enhance koala habitats. By planting local vegetation and expanding canopy cover, we’re protecting koalas from extreme weather and boosting important breeding sites. Our goal is to connect 20 km of koala habitat, ensuring a brighter future for these iconic Australian animals.
In Portugal, we are restoring forests that are vulnerable to wildfires and soil degradation. By planting fire-resistant, native species like cork oak and maritime pine, we’re improving soil fertility and local water cycles. These efforts strengthen the resilience of the land, support biodiversity, and help communities adapt to climate change, preventing further desertification.
We’re working alongside indigenous communities in the Peruvian Amazon to restore 520 hectares of degraded land. Our efforts help support local livelihoods, reduce pressure on primary forests, and improve the long-term health of the Amazon ecosystem. By empowering these communities, we’re protecting the rainforest for future generations.
In Brazil’s Atlantic Forest, the Corridors for Life project is planting native species to establish biodiversity corridors and protect Key Biodiversity Areas. This project connects forest fragments, providing critical habitat for endangered species like jaguars and black lion tamarins.
We’re healing forest lands impacted by the 2007 Moonlight Fire, restoring watershed health, wildlife habitats, and forest ecosystems in Northern California. Through targeted reforestation, we improve ecological resilience, enhance biodiversity, and create safeguards against future climate challenges, fostering a sustainable future for the region's landscapes.
In British Columbia, we're planting 2 million trees to help restore a forest devastated by wildfire. This project accelerates the recovery of critical ecosystems, improves water quality, and provides essential wildlife habitats that were lost. With each tree planted, we’re healing the land and supporting long-term ecological resilience.
We’re working to restore surface-mined lands in Appalachia by planting trees that will evolve into thriving forests. This project reduces fragmentation, improves water quality, and provides habitat for pollinators and wildlife. By reforesting these areas, we’re supporting biodiversity and helping to heal the land for local communities and future generations.
Trees are one of the most effective tools we have for tackling today’s environmental challenges. They absorb carbon dioxide, release oxygen, and improve soil and water quality, helping to balance ecosystems and increase nature’s resilience to a warming world. Trees also provide food, shelter, and livelihoods, making them invaluable not only for the planet, but for people.
Healthy ecosystems rely on trees to filter water, prevent soil erosion, and create the rich, stable environments that sustain life. By planting trees, we’re revitalizing landscapes, supporting natural processes, and protecting resources that are essential to all living things. A single tree may seem insignificant, but together, healthy forests form thriving, balanced ecosystems.
Forests are home to over 80% of the world’s terrestrial species, from birds and mammals to plants and insects. By restoring forests, we create critical habitats that nurture diverse species and protect against biodiversity loss. Each tree planted strengthens the intricate web of life, offering vital support to flora and fauna across the globe.
Trees play a powerful role in addressing climate change, absorbing CO2 and storing it for decades while reducing temperatures and improving air quality. By planting trees, we’re helping to mitigate greenhouse gases and protect against extreme weather events. Forests act as natural shields, building resilience and making communities safer in the face of climate challenges.
