The recognition is a testament to the urgency of reforestation and its global impact
SHELBURNE, VT., Oct. 21, 2026 — The global reforestation nonprofit One Tree Planted has been named a finalist in three categories of the 6th Annual Anthem Awards, the social impact arm of the Webby Awards and the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), across the Sustainability, Environment & Climate category:
Earth is ART revealed the ART inside E[ART]H, and invited people to help restore the beauty of the natural world. The campaign generated 1.36 million social impressions, nearly 440,000 video views, and more than 409,000 website visits. Seeing Is Believing, a before-and-after series built on satellite imagery and geospatial analysis, compresses years of recovery into seconds, including a four-year Costa Rica partnership that planted 10,000 trees across 23 hectares. Transforming Global Landscapes explains how One Tree Planted matches each project to its landscape, from wildfire restoration, mangroves, and urban forestry, to agroforestry.
In 20205, the world lost 25.5 million hectares (Mha) of global tree cover, an area larger than the United Kingdom, according to the World Resources Institute (WRI) Global Forest Watch. Restoration rebuilds wildlife habitat, stabilizes soil and watersheds, and helps landscapes withstand the increasing threats caused by drought and fire.
“Restoring forests is essential to addressing climate change and biodiversity loss, but meaningful change also requires public awareness and engagement,” said Hank Lynch, President and CEO of One Tree Planted. “Powerful storytelling makes restoration visible, inspires action, and helps build momentum for lasting change. We’re honored by this recognition from the Anthem Awards.”
Public voting is open through Oct. 29, and winners will be announced Nov. 5. See the campaigns and vote here.
