  • Thailand

    One Dollar. One Tree.

Reforestation of Thailand's beautiful landscapes will create healthy forests and healthy livelihoods for more than 1,000 farmers, their families, and their communities. Learn more

    With your help, we will:

    • Restore essential watersheds for people and wildlife
    • Create sustainable agroforestry to support smallholder farmers
    • Support an iconic biodiversity hotspot
    • This project is at the intersection of environmental restoration and poverty alleviation, thanks to the incredible practice of agroforestry. Thailand's landscapes have been degraded by unsustainable agriculture practices for decades, but the process of planting fruit-bearing species alongside native tree species can help restore soil, support watersheds, and create an economic livelihood for people and communities in need. This project will work with 1,139 farmers to plant more than 375,000 trees in the Nam Kohk, Hoi Lui, and Mae Na Wong watersheds, part of Thailand's "Golden Triangle." Support sustainable agroforestry when you plant a tree today! 🌳
    • Our Thailand project focuses on land restoration and social impact. By planting diverse native species in landscapes damaged by erosion, soil quality will improve, and erosion will slow. Trees also protect watersheds, guiding the flow of freshwater along its route. The community impact of this project will be profound, with more than 1,000 smallholder farmers being able to create a new and sustainable source of income and nutrition for their families. Native biodiversity will have improved habitat.
    • A personalized tree certificate (see gallery) to say thanks for your donation. We'll also send you reports on our Thailand project, so you can track the impact your trees are having on the community and environment.
    • We always plant a mix of diverse, native species from local nurseries. Since this is an agroforestry project, we will also be planting appropriate species that have an economic value when sustainably harvested. Some of these species include Coffea arabica (coffee), Citrus sinensis (orange), Dimocarpus longan (longan), Litchi sinensis (lychee), Mangifera indica (mango), and Artocarpus heterophyllis (jackfruit).

    Why Plant in Thailand?

    Empower Local Communities

    Empower Local Communities

Through our partners in Thailand, tree planting develops income opportunities for communities, in particular for refugee groups, by creating jobs in planting, maintenance, and forest conservation.

    Protect Biodiversity

    Protect Biodiversity

Thailand is home to more than 10% of the world’s animals, including more than 285 species of mammal like the iconic sun bear. Of these, more than 15% are threatened or endangered in the wild.

    Stabilize Climate

    Stabilize Climate

Forests are an essential part of our planet’s carbon and water cycles. A fully grown tree can release hundreds of liters of water in one day! Healthy trees absorb carbon dioxide and keep climate stable.
