From the Everglades tropical savanna at Florida’s tip to the sprawling Appalachian Mountains, the Southeastern United States region encompasses incredible ecosystem diversity. Reforestation in this region will help restore areas impacted by natural disasters. Learn more
With your help, we will:
- Restore landscapes after natural disasters
- Improve water quality by restoring watersheds
- Promote biodiversity and enhance wildlife
- From forest fires in Louisiana and Mississippi to hurricanes in Florida, the trees planted across five southeastern states will restore natural landscapes that have been impacted by extreme weather events.
- Natural disasters not only harm the communities where they occur; they can also severely degrade ecosystems. Reforestation provides long-term restoration, development and support to communities who have been profoundly impacted by wildfires, drought, cyclones and flooding. Planting trees will also restore watersheds, enhance wildlife habitat, improve forest resilience, and sequester carbon.
