From beaches of white sand to evergreen forests, the Dominican Republic is a land of diversity. Planting trees in the Dominican Republic will revitalize soil and promote biodiversity. Learn more
With your help, we will:
- Restore essential watersheds for soil stability and erosion control
- Decrease pollution and preserve crops during unstable weather
- Impact local communities by improving nutrition, health, and opportunity
- With pristine beaches, evergreen forests, and fertile valleys, the Dominican Republic is home to the most diverse topography in the Caribbean. Reforestation in the Dominican Republic will help revitalize deforested land and empower local communities to plant and care for the trees. The trees planted in this project will not only have an impact on diverse land of the Dominican Republic, but it will also impact local community members, partnering with local farmers to help promote planting efforts. 🌲
- The trees planted in this project will have a substantial ecological impact. They will nourish and revitalize the soil, promote biodiversity, improve water sources, and stabilize weather patterns. Trees planted on hillsides will also prevent erosion, decreasing pollution and preserving crops through storms and unstable weather. These better crop yields will lead to better community nutrition and health, promoting food security. Planting trees in this project will also help promote gender equity in the Dominican Republic, empowering women to take action in their local communities.
- A personalized tree certificate (see gallery) to say thanks for your donation. We'll also send you reports on our Dominican Republic project, so you can track the impact your trees are having on the community and environment.
- We always plant a mix of diverse, native species from local nurseries. This project is working to replenish local forests, so the native species grown in the nurseries will include an array of different fruit trees and timber trees.

About the
Dominican Republic
With pristine beaches, evergreen forests, and fertile valleys, the Dominican Republic is home to the most diverse topography in the Caribbean. The terrain of this beautiful country comprises rainforest, savanna, and highlands, including Pico Duarte, the Caribbean’s tallest mountain. The Dominican Republic is a country known for its incredibly rich history and production of some of the world's favorite crops like mangos and coffee.
Reforestation in the Dominican Republic will help revitalize deforested land. The trees planted in this project will help smallholder farms with their crop production, empowering local communities to take part in the planting. This project will help to promote biodiversity, improve crop yield, and impact communities through improved nutrition and overall health.
Why Plant Trees in the Dominican Republic?
Promote Biodiversity
This project will plant an array of different fruit and timber trees to help nourish and revitalize the soil. These trees will help promote biodiversity and ensure a healthy ecosystem for generations to come.
Improve Crop Yield
With nourished soil and erosion prevention, this project will help yield more crops from smallholder farms, producing 40 percent more diversity of crops.
Impact Community Health
