  • Amazon Rainforest

    One Dollar. One Tree.

Now more than ever, it's essential to reforest the Amazon River Basin, home to almost 30% of plant & animal species on Earth with 1.9 billion acres of rainforest and over 1,100 tributaries. Learn more

    With your help, we will:

    • Protect & restore primary forests to stabilize the climate
    • Conserve habitat for the Amazon Rainforest's iconic wildlife species
    • Provide sustainable livelihoods to local people through agroforestry
    • With the world's largest rainforest ecosystem, the Amazon Rainforest spans 9 countries and is home to iconic species like the Jaguar, Macaw, Amazon River Dolphin, Black Spider Monkey, and Poison Dart Frog. By holding an estimated 90-140 billion metric tons of carbon, its forests play a critical role in the fight against climate change. Unfortunately, due to logging, unsustainable agriculture, and forest fires, it's also a high risk zone for deforestation and degradation.
    • This tree planting project will help protect the Amazon's biodiverse primary forests and restore degraded land. Our partners will work with local farmers to establish sustainable agroforestry using shade-grown cocoa, native tree species, and productive timber species. They will also provide training and technical assistance for participants in the sustainable agroforestry model.
    • A personalized tree certificate (see gallery) to say thanks for your donation. We'll also send you reports on our Amazon project, so you can track the impact your trees are having on the community and environment.
    • To maximize the impact of your donation, our partner will determine the most appropriate species of tree to plant.

    About the Amazon Rainforest

The Amazon Rainforest is the world's largest tropical rainforest:6.9 million square kilometers (2.72 million square miles), the Amazon Basin is roughly the size of the 48 contiguous United States.

The Amazon forest spans across 9 countries in total: Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana.

Researchers estimate there are nearly 16,000 trees species and about 390 billion individual trees in the Amazon.

The Amazon forest covers around 40% of the South American continent, with approximately 70% of South America's GDP is produced in areas that receive rainfall or water from the Amazon.
